Life line

When knitting a larger product it's a good idea to use life lines. A life line is when you put a line of yarn through a row, so if you have to tear out the product you only go back to that life line (where you know you were on track with the pattern).

While on the road, I had to use yarn I had on hand. It's better to use different color yarn so you can tell what is the life line, but this worked.

I tied it off to the side.

Unfortunately after I was home working on this I delayed putting in an updated life line & after a mistake, had to rip out about 2 inches of work :( harsh lesson, indeed!
