Weaning

We tried weaning Rose a few weeks back, but she was getting so upset that we gave in and let her back with her mom. We theorized that her mom was out of milk by then anyway. Then this week we caught her nursing again. So we decided to move her into the maiden girls area. She is not happy about this at all. We also put a cover on her. The last few batches of hay that we've gotten have had a lot of burrs in it. Rose was getting burrs in her blanket fiber. With an alpaca show right around the corner, that is the last thing we wanted! Thankfully we had these covers that South Haven Alpacas gave us. They are perfect to keep the burrs off her.
