Colorful Hats!

While I have chosen not to attempt dying our alpaca fiber, my husband, J, dyed three hats that he knit up:



I think they turned out really nice. Though it's hard to get a picture to capture the true color.

Purple:



Orange:



Green:



He made these as a special order for someone. I hope they like them.

So, you can dye them after you knit them up? I didn't realize that. I thought you had to dye a whole hank before knitting. I haven't dyed anything yet. What dye does he suggest?

Louelle - I have no idea the right way to dye, as I have never even thought about doing it. I know my husband dyed it after he knit up the hats. It worked. But I know many people dye it first.

He just ordered some Rid (is that the name? it starts with an R) over the internet and used that. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. I have no idea if he really did though, he's like that :)
