This weekend we attended The Great Midwest Alpaca Festival. This is the 9th year that this show has taken place, our second year attending it. We enjoyed it so much last year we wanted to come back.
We are thrilled to say that our animals did incredible at this show!!!
Our girls rule! Rose was in a class of 7 yearling grey females where she came out in 1st place!! The judge stated that her handle is "exquisite". Twilight was shown in the indefinite and mixed class at this show. She received 1st!!!
Our new male, Gabe, received a 2nd place in a very tough and large class of juvenile black boys. Our male Challenger received 2nd place in a very tough class of rose grey juvenile males. He was beat by a male from Hiben Hollow Alpacas, LLC, an established farm who has an incredible grey program (I will also note the male from Hiben Hollow is really a silver grey male, but was placed by color check in the rose grey class where even the judge stated he technically did not belong - so really Challenger was the 1st of the rose greys there).
I'll post more about the show, including some pictures, when I have time tomorrow. We got home at 12:30 a.m. and I have a ton of stuff to get done today. I only did this quick post because I couldn't wait to brag :)
A special thanks to Valerie and Dave who took care of our farm in our absence. They did a fantastic job, the animals seem happy and well cared for.

Wow! What a great show! We are so happy for you and proud of your animals.
We really enjoyed watching the alpacas. It was no problem at all and everyone was very nice to us. Even the boys started really warming up to me by yesterday. Don't hesitate to ask us again, if you need help in the future.
